Podwilczyn

Podwilczyn ( German Podewilshausen, Kashubian Pòdewilsów Chëcze or Pòdewilsuzë ) is a village in the municipality Dębnica Kaszubska is powiat Słupski ( Stolp ) of the Polish Pomeranian Voivodeship.

Geographical location

The village is located in Eastern Pomerania, in the landscape park Stolpetal, about 22 km south-southeast of the city of Slupsk ( Stolp ) and nine kilometers south of the church village Dębnica Kaszubska ( Rathsdamnitz ).

History

The village Podewilshausen was founded in the period 1748-1752 in the city stumbling forest Loitz, as a 16 farms colony. It was one of the 200 colonies founded Frederick the Great in Pomerania. The new town was named after the Prussian Foreign Minister Count Heinrich von Podewils. In 1784, there were in addition to the 16 farmers a schoolmaster, a house of prayer and a total of 18 households. The farmers were owners of their farms and paid a fixed rent ( " gun " ) to the town of Stolp. In 1794 /95, the courts have been left to the farmers in Erbzinspacht.

In 1925 were in Podewilshausen 37 residential buildings. 1939 were counted 69 households and 290 inhabitants.

Until 1945 the village belonged to the district of Stolp Podewilshausen in the district of Pomerania Pomerania. The municipal area was 510 hectares. The municipality Podewilshausen included the north-west from the village located Podewilshausen living space mosquito skating. In Podewilshausen there were 52 farms.

Towards the end of World War II Podewilshausen was occupied on 7 March 1945 by the Red Army. Previously, a trek with all the villagers had set out to escape, but was overtaken in Schmaatz by Soviet troops. Almost all villagers returned. Later Poles arrived and took over houses and farms of the village. Podewilshausen was renamed Podwilczyn. The German villagers have been displaced.

100 Come from Podewilshausen villagers were later identified in the Federal Republic of Germany and 128 in East Germany.

The village has about 195 inhabitants.

School

In 1932 the elementary school was in two stages Podewilshausen; a single teacher taught there at the time into two classes 66 school children.

Church

The pre-1945 living in Podewilshausen population was overwhelmingly Protestant denomination. The church belonged to the church Stolp City. The Church in Podewilshausen had as Rowe in a free-standing belfry.
