Poe no Ichizoku

Poe no Ichizoku (Japaneseポーの一族, GV " The Poe Family ") is a manga series of the Japanese graphic artist Moto Hagio. They can be assigned to the shōjo genre and tells each other in closed sections of the two main characters Edgar and Allan. Poe no Ichizoku was one of the first and most influential Japanese comics, homosexuality ( Shonen Ai ) treated.

Action

Since the mid-18th century, the family moves Poe, a vampire clan in Europe from place to place in order to hide their identity from mortals. Edgar and Mary Bell are members of the Poe family, but already at the age of thirteen to become vampires and have since not aged. End of the 19th century comes to light in a city that Poe's vampires are; Mary Bell is killed. Edgar can escape he meets a vampire peers, Allan. The two are also unchanged in 1970 traveling around Europe and meet in London on descendants of the Poe family.

Publications

Poe no Ichizoku appeared in Japan from March 1972 to June 1976 in individual chapters in the manga magazine Shōjo Comic Bessatsu. These individual chapters were summarized by Shogakukan publishing in five anthologies. Later, the manga was reprinted several times, including in 1988 in a three-volume edition. Also includes three volumes of a new edition of 1998.

In Europe Poe no Ichizoku has not yet been published.

Awards

Moto Hagio received the 1976 Shogakukan Manga Award 21 for Poe no Ichizoku.
