Poggio Berni
Poggio Berni is an Italian municipality ( comune ) with 3442 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of Rimini in Emilia -Romagna. The municipality is situated approximately 16 km west-southwest of Rimini on the Marecchia and directly borders the province of Forlì- Cesena.
History
The original Latin name podium Hibernorum means wintry Plateau. Later, the village was a fief of the Malatesta, who in 1335 built the castle.
