Point Four Program

The Point IV program was an economic reconstruction program, the President of the United States Harry S. Truman announced in his inaugural address on January 20, 1949. It derives its name from the fact that it has been named as Item 4 of Truman's foreign policy objectives.

The Point IV program was not limited to any region. The aim was to bring the economic development after the Second World War started. For the reconstruction of Europe, the Marshall Plan was adopted on 16 April 1948. Under the adopted by the Advisory Committee on Foreign Aid on June 23, 1950 Point IV program of bilateral agreements between the U.S. and several countries of South America, Israel and Iran have been closed. The Point IV program was for the economic development of Israel and Iran ( asl -e chahar ) after the Second World War crucial.

On October 19, 1950 signed an agreement under the Point IV program in Tehran between the American Ambassador Henry F. Grady and Prime Minister Haj Ali Razmara, with an Iranian - American commission was established for the development of rural areas. As part of the Point IV program, 12,000 primary school and secondary school teachers were trained, built 200 schools and newly set 200 schools in state.

Under President Dwight D. Eisenhower, the program lost its importance since the closed under the Point IV program economic agreements have been supplemented or replaced by new ones, some further agreement.
