The Pokhara Airport ( IATA code: PKR, ICAO code: VNPK ) is a regional airport in Pokhara ( Nepal).

From him go regular flights to Kathmandu, Jomsom and Manang. The flights to Jomsom and Manang can be carried out in the early morning hours, as do the strong winds and from the highlands of Tibet in the Kali Gandaki Valley in the rest of the time a landing impossible. In addition, fall in the monsoon months, many flights from because of the low cloud cover and heavy rains. With delays can be expected at this time in any case.

The airport has opened in 1958 a concrete runway (04 /22) with a length of 1428 m. A new terminal building was inaugurated in 1997. The city Pokhara has evolved in recent years to the airfield around. Curiously, the runway runs roughly north-south direction, although the Pokhara valley lies more in the east-west direction. Thus, both the approach and departure corridors are very shortened from the nearby mountains: the distance to the slopes is from the runway ends only 2-3 km. About 3 km east of the airport, an area is set aside for a new airport, its runway is parallel to the valley for many years. Nevertheless, a lot of money was put into the old airport for a tarmac runway and a new terminal building in the 90s. Thus, a change in the situation is not clear.

Operator is the State Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal.
