Polycarpus II of Byzantium

Polycarp II († 144 ) was bishop of Byzantium. According to some sources, he is said to have officiated 17 years, according to Nikephoros Kallistos, a credible chronicler, but his tenure was only 3 years; it is usually dated to the years 141-144. Polycarp was, like his predecessors, was buried in a marble coffin. His successor was Athenodorus.
