Polyphony Digital

K. K. Polyphony Digital (Japanese株式会社 ポリフォニー·デジタル, Kabushiki - gaisha Porifonī Dejitaru ) is a game development studio that is known for its very successful racing video game series " Gran Turismo ". It is a 100 % subsidiary of Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. ( SCEI ).

Polyphony was formerly known as Polys Entertainment and is an in-house development team at SCEI. Their first title, the first two games of the motor Toon GP Comic racing game series for the PlayStation, were published under the name of SCEI.

Your next project, the racing game " Gran Turismo " was a worldwide success and received numerous awards. As a result of this success and the new awareness of SCEI granted the development team more freedom in the development of new games. The team was renamed to Polyphony Digital.

In the following years, the team developed the Action game "Omega Boost" and several sequels to the highly successful " Gran Turismo " series for Sony's game console Playstation, Playstation 2 and Playstation Portable.

Shall maintain the development team of Kazunori Yamauchi, the spiritual father of the GT series. Polyphony Digital is now considered one of the most important " first-party development houses" at Sony.
