Pomerania Euroregion

The euro region Pomerania is a euro region in northwestern Poland, in the north-eastern Germany and in the south-western Sweden.

The founding treaty was signed on 15 December 1995 between Polish and German partners in Stettin ( Szczecin). The Swedish partner of the community joined in Lund on 26 February 1998. A collaboration with the Danish island of Bornholm and eastern Denmark is sought. Equal numbers Council of the Euro region has its registered office in Szczecin.

In the euro region Pomerania approximately 3.9 million people. Its area covers more than 49,000 km ².

The aim of the Euro region is the approach of the participating European border regions through the coordination and support of joint programs and investments in business, education, culture, infrastructure and environmental protection. In addition to the establishment of a complex information system for data exchange in the euro region should be also collaborated in combating disasters and emergency situations.

Members

This club belong to 96 municipalities in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship, including the city of Szczecin / Szczecin and the Gmina Miastko ( German Rummelsburg ) in the Pomeranian Voivodeship and the Gmina Zbąszyń ( German Bentschen ) in the Greater Poland Voivodeship.

Members in this local community are the towns of Stralsund, Greifswald and Neubrandenburg and the districts Vorpommern - Rügen, Demmin, Mecklenburg -Strelitz and Vorpommern - Greifswald, Mecklenburg- Vorpommern. From Brandenburg, the counties Uckermark and Barnim have joined the club. The association is based Löcknitz. In Anklam, Pasewalk and Schwedt, the association service and advising center maintains.

The community association Scania (Skåne ) 33 municipalities in the Swedish province of Skåne County are organized. Offices of the Association of Municipalities located in Lund and Klippan.
