Pont-l'Évêque, Calvados

Pont- l'Évêque is a commune with 4432 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) in the department of Calvados in the Basse -Normandie.

The town lies at the mouth of the Calonne in the Touques whose catchment basin is the Pays d'Auge. Therefore Pont- l'Évêque is also Porte du Pays d'Auge, gateway to the Pays d'Auge called. Pont- l'Évêque is the origin of the cheese of the same. Since 1995, a partnership with the Lower Franconian town Veitshoechheim.
