Ponte Vittorio Emanuele II

The Ponte Vittorio Emanuele II is a bridge in Rome.

The bridge was built in 1886 by the architect Ennio De Rossi. The construction works were delayed and the inauguration of the bridge was only 1911. Connects the east of the Tiber River, the bridge lying historic center of Rome to the west of the Tiber lying district of Borgo and the Vatican City. On the eastern side of the Piazza Paoli is the leading further east street Corso Vittorio Emanuele II, the side next to the bridge on the river bed of the Tiber, the remains of the formerly located there Pons Neronianus Roman Bridge can be seen.

The bridge spans the Tiber in three arcs with a length of 108 meters. There are high Mamorsockel on which stand colossal winner bronze figures at the respective ends of the bridge. On the bridge piers are built of travertine marble statues.
