Port Everglades

The seaport of Port Everglades in Broward County, Florida is one of the largest container ports on the east coast of the United States and a major base port of the cruise industry.

Port Everglades is located on the southeast coast of Florida and is bordered by the cities of Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood and Dania Beach. On a larger scale, it is approximately 37 kilometers north of Miami, 77 miles south of West Palm Beach and 500 miles south of Jacksonville. The port area has an area of ​​only nine square kilometers, of which about three quarters are in the area of the City of Hollywood. Unlike the name suggests, first, Port Everglades is not part of the Florida Everglades.

Port Everglades was originally known as Lake Mabel and evolved since the commissioning of the deepwater port in 1928, a major economic center in South Florida.
