Port Klang

Port Klang (formerly Port Swettenham; Malay: Pelabuhan sound ) is the largest and most important sea port in Malaysia. It is located in the district of sound in Selangor State in the Straits of Malacca and in the immediate vicinity of the capital Kuala Lumpur and was established in 1893.

In 2004 he was one of the 20 busiest container ports in the world. The port is since 1 July 1963 ( an authority ) managed by the Port Klang Authority, which also operates the other three ports of the district ( Northport, Southport and Westport ). In the first district existed of Southport, which was subordinate to that time, the Railway Administration ( Malayan Railway Administration ).

Currently, the Westport and Northport are in the process of privatization. Westport is managed by Kelang Multi Terminal (KMT ) and the Northport Northport Malaysia.
