Port-Salut
Port-Salut ( Creole: Pòsali ) is a coastal town in the Sud Department of Haiti island with 17,368 inhabitants ( 2009 estimate ). It is situated at 28 meters above sea level and has an area of 48.79 km ².
The city is the seat of the Arrondissement Port-Salut.
The former president of the country, Jean -Bertrand Aristide, was born here in 1953.
