Portland Eagles

The Portland Eagles were an American ice hockey franchise in the Pacific Coast Hockey League from Portland, Oregon.

History

The Portland Eagles were founded for the season 1944/45, as a franchise of the Pacific Coast Hockey League. In their first three seasons in the PCHL they finished the regular season in each of the top two places in the North Division, were able subsequently not prevail in the playoffs for the Lester Patrick Cup. For the season 1949/50, the team changed its name in Portland Penguins, returned to the following season, however, already back to its original name Portland Eagles back. After seven years in the PCHL the Eagles presented in 1951 the operation of gambling.
