Porto Seguro is a city founded in 1891, in the south of Bahia state in Brazil in the South Atlantic.

The city has about 140,000 inhabitants ² in an area of ​​2409.6 km. It is considered a historical heritage of Brazil, as the Portuguese navigator Pedro Alvares Cabral and conquerors on April 22, 1500 for the first time entered the Brazilian ground near the city.

The community is one of the oldest in Brazil and goes back to a foundation in 1534. The climate in the summer brings temperatures up to 34 ° C, while the temperature in winter to 18 to 27 ° C.

In the village no house can be built with more than two storeys. Since 1993 there is an international airport.

Besides tourism, there are in the area of ​​Porto Seguro and agricultural activities (with cultivation of cashew and coconut ). Also, large areas of forest have been planted with eucalyptus trees in recent years. In addition, there are also animal husbandry.
