Geography

It is located in the northwestern part of the department of Artigas in its seventh sector east of Bella Unión on the banks of the Río Cuareim. North adjacent to Las Piedras and Cuareim, also in the west, the south of Bella Unión lying Coronado.

Population

Portones de Hierro y Campodónico has 323 inhabitants, of whom 170 men and 153 women (as of 2011).
