Positive (photography)
As a positive film is called a photographic film, which is primarily used as a copying material for film prints and the colors and gray values are immediately visible in their natural gradations. Positive films have a much lower light sensitivity than copying material and are fine grained. The positive film obtained after development, a projectable transparency.
A reversal film can not be described as a positive film.
Method
A movie is usually exposed to negative film, the positive - ie the finished copy of the film for projection in cinemas - is exposed through a contact copy of the negative to a positive film, and produced by subsequent development.
