Postman Pat

Postman Pat ( in the original English Postman Pat) is a British stop-motion animated series for children. The focus of this primarily aimed at children in preschool series is The Postman Pat Clifton, who lives in the fictional village of Greendale.

Content

In each of the episodes of Postman Pat Clifton is arrested with his cat Jess during the delivery of his letters in Greendale by one of the residents to help with their problems. Later Pat Clifton gets every time particularly difficult consignments for delivery, so a giant ice cube.

Production and publication

The series was produced by Woodland Animations and directed by Ivor Wood. The screenplay was written by John Cuncliffe and the music is by Brian Daly and Simon Woodgate. The narrator said Ken Barrie. The first broadcast took place from 16 September 1981 on BBC1. A second version of the series was broadcast from 2004.

The series was released on DVD and aired including Japan and the Netherlands. Of 8 May 2006 to 6 June 2006, the German version was sent by ORF1 first time. This was followed by broadcasts by Super RTL, Junior and Premiere.
