Powaqqatsi is the second part of the Qatsi trilogy by Godfrey Reggio. Powaqqatsi is a word from the language of the Hopi Indians, which means as much as " a being ", " a way of life that consumes the life forces of other beings for his own life to encourage / support ". The film was released in 1988 in theaters.

Content

Theme of the film is the impact of industrialization on the peoples of Asia, Latin America and Africa. The camera lingers often for minutes on everyday processes of people, so that the viewer is an observer at the same time. Reggio thus makes the film an experience for the viewer.
