Power walking

Walking (English for go ) is an internal as well as in German-speaking countries as a loanword common name for the popular sport - oriented variant of the competitive sport of walking. Similar to the noun was colloquially also the verb walken while retaining the pronunciation, but taken over by German flexion from English.

Naturally, a higher speed is used in the recreational sport Walken sought as the natural walking or hiking. In addition a more active arm swing is applied.

A recent variant is the Nordic Walking - in which are used for more balanced stress on the body, especially the shoulder and upper arm muscles, sticks - on the model of cross-country skiing.
