Powerbocking

Bounce ( engl. to bounce: jumping, bouncing ) or Powerbocking is a fun sport. When bouncing walks, runs, sprints or jumps of athletes with special jump boots, also called jumping stilts. Devices and athletes are also referred to as flyjumper, Powerjumper or Power Bocker.

Experienced " Bouncer " create jumps up to two meters high and five meters wide, somersaults, show stunts or sprint at a speed up to 45 km / h

Functions of the jumping stilts

The jump boots contain a shatterproof, according to the manufacturer, the fiberglass spring, the tread soles are made of non-slip hard rubber. The energy by which the spring is compressed, is in the extension phase of the spring free again and thus accentuates each step of the athlete.

Distribution

The products have different names depending on the manufacturer. The biggest marketers are Pro- Jump, Poweriser, Powerstrider, flyjumper, speed jumper, power skip, 7leagueboot with the type designations are again different.

Costs

The stilts are currently being offered for around 200 to over 1000 €. As protective equipment wrist, elbow, and knee pads are required. Also, wearing a helmet is recommended.

Application and dangers

By direct mounting on the foot and the solid double buckle connection and a fixed connection below the knee the Sprungstelze is really just an extension of your leg. The focus ( performance point) is located just below the foot similar to walking. However, the foot is practically converted only to the heel. Due to the rounded rubber feet it is almost impossible to stand a long time. Hence, one must be supported either or keep moving.

Betting In the ZDF TV show, dass. 4 December 2010 suffered the Contestant Samuel Koch in serious injury when he tried to jump on jumping stilts with a somersault over a speeding car. The betting candidate withdrew it a complex injury to the cervical spine and leaving him paralyzed.

World record backflip

The world record backflip - entered in the Guinness Book of Records - is held by "Half Animal" Jesus Villa. He succeeded on 4 July 2007 at the John Carroll University 19 backward somersaults over a length of about 100 yards (about 91.4 meters).
