Prahran, Victoria

Prahran a suburb of Melbourne in Victoria in Australia and only 5 km away from the city center. The place name is derived from the Aboriginal word " purraran " and means - because of its proximity to the Yarra River and Albert Park Lake - " mostly surrounded by water."

First, Prahran was a settlement area for farmers, after the gold rush in the 1850s, it then became a working class neighborhood.
