Pranburi Forest Park

The forest reserve Pranburi ( Thai: วนอุทยาน ปราณบุรี ) consists mainly of mangroves that occur at the mouth of the River Pranburi in the Gulf of Thailand as extensive mangrove forest.

The 3.17 km ² large area of ​​the forest reserve is located in the district ( Amphoe ) Pranburi Prachuap Khiri Khan. The Prachuap Khiri Khan province is located in the southern part of the central region of Thailand.

The protected area is in communication with the protected area Khlong Kao- Khlong Kob. It was established on 30 September 1982 after King Bhumibol Adulyadej (Rama IX. ) Had personally approved this project.

Climate

The climate is tropical and monsunal and has three seasons: (1 ) the rainy season from June to October with heavy rainfall, (2) the cool season from November to February and ( 3) the summer from March to May

Flora and Fauna

Besides the numerous species of mangroves that line the coast to about 1 kilometer in length, there are seagrass beds and further inland beispielsweiseGardenien species, deciduous and bamboo forest.

Many species of shorebirds, such as the taxa cormorants and storks live here. The Tenasserim muntjac located in the deciduous forests.
