Premier Power

Premier Power is a utility company in Northern Ireland.

The company was founded in 1992 after the privatization of the electricity supply in Northern Ireland. Previously, the Northern Ireland Electricity (NIE ) is responsible for the operation of the local power plants and grids. BG Group purchased the power plant Ballylumford of the NIE and founded Premier Power as the operating company.

With the power plant in Ballylumford Premier Power can currently cover 50 % of the Northern Ireland and 17 % of all-Ireland electricity consumption.
