Presseurop

Presseurop.eu was a multilingual news portal, the selected press articles with a focus on Europe, translated into ten different languages ​​and published. It was operated by the European Commission in collaboration with a consortium led by Courrier International and went on May 26, 2009 online. A few months before the European elections, the project on December 20, 2013 were adjusted.

Concept

An editorial of ten salaried journalists and a number of freelancers evaluated daily over 250 European newspapers and magazines, selected articles related to Europe and translated them. The offer was offered in ten different languages, namely English, German, French, Italian, Dutch, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Spanish and Czech. Originally planned for the offer auszuweitet to all 23 official languages ​​of the European Union. It was concluded on 20 December 2013.
