Preston School of Industry (band)

Preston School of Industry is an American indie rock band.

History

The band was formed in 1999 by guitarist and vocalist Scott Kannenberg in Stockton (California), after his former band Pavement disbanded due to artistic differences between Kannenberg and Stephen Malkmus.

The band's debut album was released in 2001. On the following tour Kannenberg was accompanied by two musicians Dan and Maureen and Jim Lindsay of the band Oranger from San Francisco. In 2004 followed the next album Monsoon, to the emergence of musicians the band The Minus 5 and Wilco were involved.

After a tour of Australia in summer 2004, the band moved back. The end of 2006, however, Kannenberg was in in an interview, very slowly working on a new album and do not know exactly when it will appear.

In the U.S., at band signed to Matador Records. In the UK, Domino Records released an EP with five songs of the band.
