Prey for Rock & Roll is an American musical drama from the year 2003. Directed by Alex Steyermark, the screenplay is by Cheri lovedog and Robin Whitehouse.

Action

The action begins at the end of the 1980s. Jacki and her friends founded the music group Clam Dandy, which occurs in clubs in Los Angeles. The years -long search of a producer who would publish a record of the group remains unsuccessful.

After ten years, the women find a producer. However, Jacki approaches the age of 40 and gets doubts about whether they should continue to pursue a career as a musician. She announced that she would leave the group when the disk but should not be published.

Tracy is a drug addict. Sally, who lives in a lesbian relationship with Faith, wants her recent feeds from prison redundant brother Animal with women.

Reviews

The lexicon of international film wrote that the film stelle " life plans and escapist scenarios " and show " the four protagonists on their personal search for ways out of their life crises ". Its author was " familiar with the profession " which means " insight into show business," and " an exploration of the subculture " could guarantee. However, Prey for Rock & Roll offers " musical [ ... ] not too much ."

Ronnie Scheib wrote in the journal Variety of 10 June 2003, the film WOULD authentic from beginning to end. He praised the " rousing " ( "Dynamite" ) performances of the actors, especially the " stunning " Presentation by Gina Gershon.

Background

The world premiere took place on 20 January 2003 at the Sundance Film Festival, the Tribeca Film Festival, which was followed by Toronto International Film Festival and many other film festivals. He played in the cinemas of the United States an approximately 58 thousand U.S. dollars.
