Prince Felix of Bourbon-Parma

Prince Felix of Bourbon- Parma ( born September 28, 1893 in Schwarzau, † April 8, 1970 at Schloss Fischbach ) was descended from the noble family of the Dukes of Bourbon- Parma and was by his marriage Prince Consort of Luxembourg.

Life

Felix of Bourbon- Parma was the son of the late Duke of Parma, Robert I (1848-1907) and his second wife Infanta Maria Antonia of Portugal ( 1862-1959 ). He was the brother of the last Austrian Empress and Queen of Hungary Zita.

Prince Felix married on November 6, 1919 in the Cathedral of Luxembourg with his cousin, the Grand Duchess Charlotte of Luxembourg. The couple had six children:

  • Élisabeth (1922-2011), Franz Ferdinand ∞ Hohenberg (son of Maximilian of Hohenberg, grandson of Franz Ferdinand of Austria -Este )
  • Maria Adelaide (1924-2007), ∞ 1958 Carl Joseph Graf Henckel von Donnersmarck
  • Marie Gabrielle ( b. 1925 ), ∞ Knud, Count of Holstein- Ledreborg
  • Charles (1927-1977), ∞ Joan Douglas Dillon, daughter of C. Douglas Dillon (s )
  • Alix (* 1929), ∞ Prince Antoine of Ligne

From 1922 to 1969 he was President of the Luxembourg Red Cross Society.
