Elizabeth, Princess of Denmark ( born May 8, 1935 in Copenhagen) is the daughter of the Danish Crown Prince Knut of Denmark and his wife Caroline - Mathilde of Denmark. She is member of the House of Glücksburg, a branch line of the House of Oldenburg, and is guided in the Danish throne. She is a cousin of the Danish Queen Margrethe II

Life

Elizabeth's full name is Elisabeth Caroline - Mathilde Alexandrine Helena Olga Thyra Feodora Estrid Margarethe Désirée. She grew up on Castle Sorgenfri in Lyngby near Copenhagen. Her parents were from 1947, the Danish Crown Prince couple, until 1953 came a change in the succession rules in favor of today's ruling Queen Margrethe II.

Princess Elizabeth finished her education in 1952 with the high school diploma. She then spent a year in Switzerland and attended the Lausanne Brillantmont International College. Princess Elisabeth speaks Danish, English, French and German. She is the recipient of the elephant - Order. Princess Elizabeth is unmarried and has no children.

Princess Elizabeth lived and lived over 20 years with the Danish film director and photographer Claus Hermansen together until he died in 1997.
