The Princess Elizabeth Land (English Princess Elizabeth Land) is the sector of the continent Antarctica between longitudes 73 ° E and 87 ° 43 'East. It extends east of the Amery Ice Shelf to the South Pole from the Antarctic coastline (64 ° 56 ' South). It is part of the internationally unrecognized Australian Antarctic Territory.

The Princess Elisabeth country was discovered on February 9, 1931 during the British Australian and New Zealand Antarctic Research Expedition ( BANZARE ) of 1931/32 by Sir Douglas Mawson and was named after the young Princess Elizabeth, now Queen Elizabeth II, named.

In January 1957, the Davis station was put into operation on the occasion of the International Geophysical Year in Princess Elizabeth Land, which occupies a key position within the network of Antarctic research stations in Australia today.
