Princess Emma of Anhalt-Bernburg-Schaumburg-Hoym

Emma of Anhalt- Bernburg - Schaumburg- Hoym ( born May 20, 1802 in Schaumburg, † August 1, 1858 in Pyrmont ) was a princess of Anhalt- Bernburg - Schaumburg- Hoym and 1845-1852 regent of the Principality of Waldeck and Pyrmont. ( Not to be confused with their granddaughter Emma of Waldeck -Pyrmont ).

Life

Emma was one of the four daughters of Prince Victor II of Anhalt- Bernburg - Schaumburg- Hoym (1767-1812) from his marriage to Amalie (1776-1841), daughter of Prince Karl Christian of Nassau- Weilburg. She grew up together on with her sisters in the Anhalt Hoym and was carefully trained. Great-uncle of the Princesses Prince Frederick in 1811 waived in favor of his great-nieces to the county Holzappel with Schaumburg, but in 1828 decided to the detriment of heiresses.

They married on June 26, 1823 in Schaumburg Castle Prince George II to Waldeck and Pyrmont ( 1789-1845 ).

After his death, Emma led according to the will of her husband for her son until 1852 the regency in the Principality. Among her first acts of the Reformation waldeckischen quota of the Federal Army in 1845 by Prussian officers belonged.
