Princess Maria de la Esperanza of Bourbon-Two Sicilies

Princess Maria de la Esperanza Amelia Raniera Maria Rosario Luisa Gonzaga de Borbón - Dos Sicilias y Orléans ( born June 14, 1914 in Madrid; † August 8, 2005 in Villamanrique de la Condesa in Seville ) was a Spanish nobleman of the House of Bourbon Two Sicilies.

Life

Maria de la Esperanza was the youngest daughter of Infante Carlos Maria de Bourbon (1870-1949) and his second wife Princess Louise Françoise Marie Laure d' Orleans ( 1882-1958 ).

In 1944 she married Prince Pedro of Orléans - Bragança Gastão ( 1913-2007 ), eldest son of Prince Pedro de Alcântara Luiz Felip d' Orleans - Braganza ( 1875-1940 ) and his wife Countess Elizabeth Dobrzensky of Dobrženitz ( 1875-1951 ). The marriage produced six children:

Maria de la Esperanza is the younger sister of María de las Mercedes de Borbón y Orléans, the mother of King Juan Carlos I of Spain.

Her husband, Pedro Gastão d'Orléans - Bragança, was a descendant of French citizens king and the last Brazilian emperor. Maria and Pedro were married for 61 years.

The aunt of King Juan Carlos I, of Duarte Pio of Bragança, Head of the Royal House of Portugal and Diane Duchess of Württemberg died in 2005 at the age of 91 years.
