Princess Marie Louise of Savoy
Marie -Louise of Savoy ( born September 8, 1749 Turin, † September 3, 1792 in Paris) was born a Princess of Savoy - Carignan, and by her marriage to a Bourbon prince Princess of Lamballe ( princesse de Lamballe ) and member of the French Royal Family. As maid of honor and artistic director of the house of Queen Marie Antoinette, she was the closest confidant and followed her willingly into captivity.
Life
Marie -Louise of Savoy was the fourth daughter of Prince Louis of Savoy - Carignan Viktor, the great-grandfather of King Charles Albert of Sardinia, and Christine Henriette of Hesse- Rhine rock -Rothenburg.
In 1767, she was with Louis -Alexandre de Bourbon, prince de Lamballe ( 1747-1768 ), son of the Duke of Penthièvre, grandson of the Count of Toulouse and great-grandson of Louis XIV married. When her husband died just a year later, she moved with her father back to the Château de Rambouillet. She lived there until the marriage of the Dauphin Louis Auguste, and then returned to the court of Versailles.
Marie Antoinette chose it as her closest companion and confidante. After the accession of Marie Antoinette appointed her against the resistance of the king to the director of the royal household. Between 1776 and 1785 succeeded Yolande Martine Gabrielle de Polastron, duchesse de Polignac, to displace them.
