Princess Muna al-Hussein

Princess Muna al - Hussein ( born Antoinette Avril Gardiner, born April 25, 1941 in Chelmondiston, Suffolk, England) is the mother of King Abdullah II of Jordan. Until their divorce on 21 December 1971, she was the second wife of Hussein I of Jordan.

Life

The daughter of the British officer Walter Percy Gardiner and his wife Doris (nee Sutton ) was born in England and grew up there and in today's Malaysia. She attended the Bourbe School in Kuala Lumpur and was an excellent hockey player. As she worked on the film set of Lawrence of Arabia as an assistant, she met King Hussein know that his troops, who participated as extras inspected.

On May 25, 1961 she married King Hussein in Amman. She went over to Islam and took the name Muna al - Hussein. After the birth of her first son, she received the title of Royal Highness Princess Muna al - Hussein. She had four children with the king:
