Princess Nukata

Nukata no Okimi (Japanese in the Man'yōshū :额 田 王, in Nihongi :额 田 姫 王, dt "Princess Nukata " even Nukada; * 630, † 690 ) was a Japanese waka poet.

Nukata no Okimi was the daughter of Kagami no Ō (镜 王, " Prince Kagami " ) and probably the younger sister of the poet Kagami no Okimi.

She became the favorite of the Tennō Temmu, to whom she bore the princess ( and later Emperor consort ) Tochi. Later they should - whose older brother Tenji have connected, after his death she returned to Temmu - of not more well-known reasons. Thirteen of her poems were included in the Man'yōshū large Japanese anthology.
