Princess Tomohito of Mikasa

Princess Tomohito of Mikasa (Japanese宽仁 亲 王妃 信 子, Tomohito - shinnōhi Nobuko, born April 9, 1955 as Nobuko Asō (麻 生 信 子, Asō Nobuko )) is the widow of Prince Tomohito of Mikasa, a cousin of the Japanese Emperor Akihito.

Life

She is the third daughter of the late Takakichi Asō. Her father was chairman of Aso Cement, her mother Kazuko Asō was the daughter of former Prime Minister Shigeru Yoshida. She is the sister of former Japanese Prime Minister Taro Aso. Princess Tomohito of Mikasa studied in England at the Rosslyn House College, where she successfully completed her studies in 1973.

She met and married Prince Tomohito of Mikasa in November 1980 and her present title "Princess Tomohito of Mikasa " was awarded by the Tennō. She is an honorary capacity at various welfare organizations and has held positions as President and Vice President. She is president of the Japanese Medical University Tokyo Jikeikai, Honorary President of the Japan Rose Society and Honorary Vice President of the Japanese Red Cross. Furthermore, she accompanied her husband on foreign trips as well as in various official occasions. It was the support of health care in the foreground.

She is the mother of two daughters:

  • Princess Akiko of Mikasa (born 20 December 1981)
  • Princess Yōko of Mikasa (born 25 October 1983)
