Principality of Anhalt-Aschersleben

The Principality of Anhalt- Aschersleben was a German territory, which was from 1252 to 1315.

Description

In 1252, the principality was created by division of an estate of the Principality of Anhalt Anhalt- Aschersleben, Anhalt- Bernburg and Anhalt- Zerbst. After the ruling royal family already was 63 years later, in 1315, died out with Otto II, the former principality was transferred to the bishops of Halberstadt. With this, it fell in 1648 to the Margraviate of Brandenburg.

The capital of the principality was Aschersleben.

Rulers were the Prince of Anhalt - Aschersleben.
