Railway line Bratislava - Hegyeshalom D1
Danube
The Harbour Bridge (Slovak Pristavny most, sooner Most hrdinov Dukly to German bridge the Dukla Heroes ) is a bridge over the Danube in Bratislava. It was built from 1977 to 1985 as a two-storey highway and railway bridge. The bridge is named after the river port located on the left bank of Bratislava.
The bridge is located near the river port and establishes a connection between the districts and Ružinov Petržalka. It is 599 feet long ( 1080 meters with access roads ) and part of the D1 highway and the railway line Bratislava - Hegyeshalom. The bridge also has a walkway and a bicycle track.
The bridge is due to the high traffic load ( traffic count 2005: 96 867 Fahrzeuge/24 hours), and is considered a traffic bottleneck in the city of Bratislava. In rush hours, traffic jams and the ride through the city can be complicated by a small traffic accident on the bridge. An expansion of roadways has been rejected due to static reasons.
