Pritt

Pritt is a brand for adhesives of the Henkel Group, headquartered in Dusseldorf. The term Pritt Stick has become in Germany a generic name and is used in common parlance for comparable products from other manufacturers.

History

1969 Henkel invented the world's first glue stick. Served this " out of rotation " mechanism and handling of lipsticks as a model.

Since the first glue stick came on the market, Henkel sold more than 2.5 billion copies in 121 countries.

The design of the Pritt glue stick was not changed significantly over the years. It is characterized by a red sleeve with black scroll wheel and white logo print. Short term were also refillable sleeves available with nachkaufbaren inserts which were identified by a green rotating wheel.

Production

In the Pritt stick, the manufacturer emphasizes ecological compatibility and product safety, especially since the Pritt stick is often used by children. It is solvent-free, PVC-free and complies with the European Toy Directive. Adhesive residue on clothing can be washed at low temperatures.

In 2000, Henkel replaced petroleum-based adhesives used until then by such starch-based.

The Pritt product portfolio includes a range of glues, correction products, adhesive films and fixations nowadays.
