Prix Jules Janssen

The Jules Janssen Award ( Prix Jules Janssen ) is the highest award of the French Society of Astronomy astronomique Société de France. For the first time in 1897 and then awarded annually, will be awarded the Jules Janssen Award alternately French astronomers and astronomers of other nationalities.

The Jules Janssen Award is awarded regardless of the Janssen Medal ( first time 1886), published by the French Academy of Sciences. Both awards are named after the French astronomer Pierre Janssen (1824-1907), also known as Jules Janssen, named.
