Under the name Probot published Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl in 2004, a metal album on the eleven pieces can be found that Grohl had recorded with eleven different vocalists other metal or hardcore bands. Grohl wrote the songs each with the aim to match the expected of him as a singer person. He sent Recording frame then the singers to which this written text and the vocal track added. Some guitar parts were also musicians like Matt Sweeney ( Guided by Voices ) and Kim Thayil ( Soundgarden ) contributed. Released the work is Southern Lord at the American Metal label.

Grohl spent several years working on the project, at first he had hoped for a collaboration with the late Chuck Schuldiner and with Tom Araya, which was not possible due to illness or scheduling problems.

By his own admission Grohl, who since his childhood Metal fan satisfied with this project, a long-cherished dream.
