Proctotrupoidea

Proctotrupidae

The Proctotrupoidea, named after the type of family as Zehrwespenartige, are a superfamily of Hymenoptera, which has been shown in the earlier literature as polyphyletic collection of unclassifiable families of Microphymenopteren. The Zehrwespenartigen families were added in unusual frequency or removed from this superfamily.

System

In order to be a monophyletic approach justice to the families Ceraphronidae and Megaspilidae example, were transferred to a separate superfamily Ceraphronoidea. Investigated as taxonomically insufficient and the closely related species-rich families Scelionidae and Platygastridae, which were also summarized in most classifications from 1977 in a separate superfamily, the Platygastroidea, however, have been assigned to the Zehrwespenartigen in older literature apply. The families Austroniidae, Diapriidae, Maamingidae and Monomachidae have now been put into a single superfamily Diaprioidea. Furthermore, there are concerns about the allocation of Pelecinidae. So currently on the Zehrwespenartigen addition to Zehrwespen ( Proctotrupidae ) itself, only the families Pelecinidae, Vanhorniidae, Heloridae, Roproniidae and Peradeniidae belong. Where the Roproniidae could represent a separate line, and therefore the assignment to this superfamily is still uncertain. Moreover, there are concerns about the allocation of Pelecinidae. These differ because of their elongated, thin abdomen morphologically from the type of family and the other families.
