Prothoat is a chemical compound selected from the group consisting of dithiophosphoric acid.
Production and representation
Prothoat, by reaction of sodium O, O- Diethylphosphordithioat be obtained with 2-chloro -N- isopropylacetamid or by reaction of sodium O, O- Diethylphosphordithioat with phenyl chloroacetate and isopropylamine.
It is likewise possible preparation by reaction of isopropylamine with chloroacetyl chloride and O, O- Diethylphosphordithioat.
Properties
Prothoat is a highly toxic, colorless to pale-yellow solid with odor of camphor.
Use
Prothoat was used as an insecticide and acaricide.
In the European Union Prothoat has not been included in Annex I to Directive 91/414/EEC by Commission Regulation ( EC) No 2076 /2002 of 20 November 2002. Therefore, in the States of the EU, no pesticides may be allowed to contain Prothoat.
In Germany, Austria and Switzerland, no plant protection products containing this active ingredient are allowed.
