Protrusio acetabuli
An acetabular protrusion is a protrusion of the acetabulum and head into the pelvis. The disease is also known by the German anatomist Adolph Wilhelm Otto (1786-1845) and the Austrian gynecologist Rudolf Chrobak as Otto - Chrobak Basin.
Molding
One distinguishes a primary or genuine acetabular protrusion, which is believed to be inherited dominant and usually on both sides, and occurs more frequently in females, from a secondary acetabular protrusion, which may occur as a result of various hip conditions:
- Osteomyelitis
- Tuberculous coxitis
- Hüfttrauma
- Rheumatoid arthritis
- Tumor
- Osteitis deformans
Clinic
First, there are limitations of rotation, adduction and abduction. Later, meeting in a coxarthrosis also disorders of flexion and extension.
