Provence Power Station

F2

The power plant Provence is a French coal-fired power plant with a capacity of 825 MW owned by E.ON France. It is located in the department of Bouches -du -Rhône between the municipalities and Gardanne Meyreuil.

It currently still has two power plant units:

  • Block 4 was commissioned in 1967. 1995, this block was retrofitted with a fluidized bed. According to E.ON, this is the world's largest fluidized bed combustion world. Due to environmental constraints, the block would have to be taken out of operation on 1 January 2016 at the latest. The engineering company Doosan is to convert the block into a 4 -fired with biomass (wood) block in combined heat and power generation with a capacity of 150 MW. The fluidised bed is modified and revised the steam turbine. The renovation will be completed by the end of 2015 at the latest, and so the life of the power plant block until the year 2034Vorlage: renewable future / in 5 years.
  • The block 5 was commissioned in 1984.
