Province of Nuoro

The Nuoro province ( Provincia di Nuoro Italien., sard. Provìntzia de Nùgoro ) is a province of the Sardinia region. Capital is Nuoro. It has about 158 314 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in 52 municipalities covering an area of ​​7042 km ².

The Nuoro province has about 37 inhabitants per km ² one of the most sparsely populated regions of Europe, but has interesting tourist scenic attractions, such as the Gennargentu massif (to be declared a national park ) and the Gulf of Orosei.
