Province of Nuoro
The Nuoro province ( Provincia di Nuoro Italien., sard. Provìntzia de Nùgoro ) is a province of the Sardinia region. Capital is Nuoro. It has about 158 314 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in 52 municipalities covering an area of 7042 km ².
The Nuoro province has about 37 inhabitants per km ² one of the most sparsely populated regions of Europe, but has interesting tourist scenic attractions, such as the Gennargentu massif (to be declared a national park ) and the Gulf of Orosei.

In the mountains of Nuoro are an extraordinary number of centenarians live, their age ( in contrast to other " legendary" places of longevity such as Abkhazia or Peru) is documented as valid. The oldest documented population was Antonio Todde (January 22, 1889 - January 3, 2002 ), who lived in the small village of Tiana and was acknowledged in 2000-2002 as the oldest man in the world.
