Occurrence

The Little Smoke Sackträger is frequently both in forests and in open terrain. The web of bag can be found on walls, trunks and branches.

Crawler

The caterpillars live in a cocoon sack, which is covered with plant stems. It feeds on various plants.

Male

The males have hairy, brown - shiny metallic wings with a span of 10 to 14 mm.

Female

The females are wingless, but have well-developed legs. They have a length of 4 to 5 mm. The made ​​-shaped body is yellowish or light brown, except for a few dark brown back plates. The female leaves the cocoon bag ever.

Pairing

During the mating, the female pushes partly from the upstanding end of the cocoon bag and waits curved in the male. This is lured by perfume. After mating, the female lays her eggs in the bag and dies.
