Publius Autronius Paetus

Publius Autronius Paetus was a Roman senator in the 1st century BC and participants in the Catiline conspiracy in 63 BC

In the year 75 BC Autronius (along with Marcus Tullius Cicero) Bursar and 73 BC legate in Greece, probably under the proconsul Marcus Antonius Creticus.

He was elected together with Publius Cornelius Sulla as consul for the year 65 BC, could, however, just like his counterpart, his office did not compete because he ( de ambitu ) accused by the son of the defeated office candidate Lucius Manlius Torquatus of electoral fraud and was therefore excluded from the Senate. Then Lucius Sergius Catilina, he joined in and participated in the conspiracy in 63 BC

Following the discovery of the conspiracy Autronius renounced his defense and was eventually exiled to Epirus.
