Puerto Rico national football team

The Puerto Rican national football team is the national football team of U.S. foreign territory Puerto Rico. So far, it's the team not been able to qualify for the CONCACAF Gold Cup or the Football World Cup.

The U.S. national football team, Chris Armas, who has completed more than 50 caps for the United States, originally played already five caps for Puerto Rico. As this, however, did not act to official international matches, he was still eligible to play for the U.S..

In Germany the team gained little attention when it was revealed that the association Felix Magath wanted to commit as a coach or consultant. Magath's father was born in Puerto Rico.

World Cup Qualifiers

As part of the qualification for the World Cup 2010 in South Africa, the team met in the first round of the CONCACAF region to the national team in the Dominican Republic. The game in Bayamón (Puerto Rico), which took place on 26 March 2008, could be won 1-0. Next, had to play against the national team of Honduras Puerto Rico. The first leg on June 4, 2008 in San Pedro Sula (Honduras ) ended 0:4. The return match took place on 14 June in Bayamon and ended 2:2. With this result, Puerto Rico was eliminated.
