Pol-e Chomri (or Pol-e Khomri, Pashto / Dari: پل خمری ) is a city in northern Afghanistan. It is the capital of the province of Baghlan. The census of 1979 showed the number of 31 101 inhabitants. According to estimates they had in 2007 already had a total population of about 58,300. This makes it the seventh largest city in Afghanistan.

Pol-e Chomri is located in an agricultural good usable floodplain. In the city there is a built with Soviet help cement factory. About 12 km to the north is the excavation site Surkh Kotal.

In Pol-e Chomri was from 2006 - March 2013 a Provincial Reconstruction Team under the leadership of ISAF Hungarian armed forces.

Near the town of Post North had since the summer of 2010 combat troops stationed in the army battalion (about 600 men ) at the observation. From there, the monitoring of arterial roads from Kabul to Mazar -i -Sharif, Kunduz or carried. Here were ten soldiers. In February 2013, the retreat began from the base.
